Gossip Girl: Dair developments

Gossip Girl got pretty boring for a while, to the point where I stopped watching a couple months ago. So many repetitive plot developments and lack of anything really juicy - I'd take my cute kdramas over that, please. BUT a friend brought up that Gossip Girl's identity had been revealed, and in my curiosity I started watching again. And came across an even more exciting development - Dair was happening!! FINALLY!

Wild Romance

I'm happy I didn't start this until it was almost all the way through. It's the type of series meant to be marathoned rather than watched slowly - meaning that it's easy to forget soon after you watch, but addicting while you're watching.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Advent Children is sheer amazement. Forget the typical badly-voice-acted, silly anime/game movies of old. AC by contrast boasts of a beautifully thought out universe with a great cast of characters and an engaging plot. It is understandably a fan-service to FF7 addicts out there, but it does so brilliantly, without ever feeling pointless or empty. Even better, the English lines and voice actors are for once just perfect, capturing the character's spirit without crawling into cheesy fakeness. Overall a far improvement from the first Final Fantasy movie across all dimensions.

History of the Salaryman: Episodes 9-10

Episode 10 was the first time I felt frustrated with the show. It went from humorous, light fare to cumbersome corporate crap, badly staged fights, and rise of the angst beast. I absolutely hated how 10 ended, with Yeo Chi being pathetically quiet (and completely out of character) plus the workers making me lose any shred of sympathy I held for them before.

Boys Over Flowers

I'll admit, I'm what you might consider a hardcore HanaDan fan. I've completed the entire manga series (including rereads of certain parts) and watched probably every adaptation out there (Meteor Garden - which was what launched my drama craze, Hana Yori Dango, 80% of Jade Palace Lock Heart, and 50% of Let's Go Watch Meteor Shower). It's embarrassing, as some of those were just awful. What's even sadder is that I'll probably watch any future adaptations. If only I could get my hands on the rights for an American version - this is almost guaranteed ratings gold, although I'd hope whoever produces it puts a new spin on the repetitive plots.
